A Spot of Chocolate
Sire: Hot Chocolate Chip
Dam: Pass in Style
On Dec. 7, 2009 "Bailey" had been exercising in his home arena - running and playing when he made a sliding stop that shattered his right pastern and coffin bone.
He was mercifully put to sleep at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
"Bailey" was a kind, warm-hearted gelding
who always performed in the show ring willingly and whole-heartedly. He has been our daughter Hanna's Western Pleasure horse since August 2006. In 2007 "Bailey" and Hanna Led the Nation in Youth Western Pleasure 12&U and finished 7th in Youth Western Horsemanship 12&U. In 2008 he led Hanna to High Point Youth Western Pleasure 13-15 and 3rd in the Nation in Western Horsemanship 13-15.
Before coming to us "Bailey" already had a long list of accomplishments. In 2003 he placed in the Top Five in 2-Yr Old Snaffle Bit Western Pleasure at both the ApHC National and World Shows; he placed 3rd in the 3-Yr Old Western Pleasure at the 2004 ApHC National Show, and placed in the Top Five in Men's Western Pleasure at the 2005 ApHC National and World Shows.
We all share in Hanna's grief at the passing of this wonderful horse. "Bailey" was one of a kind.
We should cherish every minute of life with our loved ones. Life is too fragile to be taken for granted.
